“Body Talks” Exhibition
First exhibited in 2005 at Museu Vila do Conde.
Body Talks is a series of photographic exercises to raise questions about the body, the identification with the body and the search of our Self.
What is a body? The sum of its parts? A body without a hand or a leg is still a body.
And without a head? Which part makes the body? The head? The trunk?
The body is the casing of the soul. When the soul decides to leave the body, the body stops functioning and is discarded.
When we go to sleep, we forget we have a body and we can assume any form we choose, freely. We are neither male nor female. And sleeping is no less real than the awake state.
We use the body to experience life as we know it, but it is not what defines us.
"Body Talks" is a series of photographic exercises to raise questions about the body, the identification with the body and the search of our true selves.
